A business called "Cricket"

18th April 2008….A day that would stay in our memories…The curtain raiser for one of the biggest events ever held on the Indian soil…“Indian Premier League”….

An event that changed the definition of cricket….Now we call it, the art of making big bucks!!!!

A gush of enthusiasm was seen on every players face…Wonder what happened to them during the World Cup??

The franchise owners were the most excited of all….finally, there was something for them to make a comeback of sorts….Yeah, bollywood was going through a bad patch….

“I play for my country” changed to “I play for my Franchise”…

There are moments during the IPL matches which we have not witnessed during the International matches….let me be honest, I have never seen most of the Indian players diving to stop the ball from reaching the boundary…

IPL has shown me what I thought was impossible to see once again…”Passion”

Passion…not for cricket…but passion to earn more money….

Gone are those days, when we were glued to our television set when the Indian team played…

Now we see the players more in commercials than on the field…Of course, they have to recover before the next season of IPL starts….

Can we get another “Sachin Tendulkar” or “Rahul Dravid”?? Still remains a mystery….

But one thing is for sure…Indian Premier League has definitely changed the way we look at sports…
